What to Expect from the IPS Empress Process

Using the IPS Empress, we can restore your smile by laying enamel and dentin materials of different translucencies for natural-looking results. This is a simple and efficient procedure to effortlessly reproduce the beauty of your teeth.

Shade Determining & Etching

With 32 shades available to restore your tooth, we’ll determine which will best match the rest of your teeth and enhance your smile. At this time, we’ll also prepare your teeth by etching them for bonding. Etching allows for the tooth to better absorb the bonding materials.

Bonding

Once your teeth have been etched, we’ll apply bonding material to the treatment area. We’ll cure the bonding for 10 seconds using a specialized LED light.

Building Up Enamel & Dentin

We’ll apply layers of enamel and dentin material to the area to build up the newly restored tooth. Different shades of material will be used to best match your natural teeth.

Curing the Filling

Each layer of enamel and dentin that is applied will be cured using a specialized LED light. Curing takes around 10 seconds each time to create a strong, long-lasting smile.

Polishing Your Restored Tooth

To finish and perfect the appearance of your restoration, we’ll use specialty tools to shape the filling for a natural appearance. After shaping, we’ll polish the area to have your restored tooth shining bright.
